I’m Claire Blacka, engagement specialist, Insights Discovery practitioner and coach for senior leaders and executives.
I have worked in the social housing sector for over 20 years. In that time the landscape has changed significantly. The sector has made great strides forward in involvement and engagement, but organisations don’t always see the fruits of their labour and many remain frustrated in the face of apathy and disengagement.
There is an increasing awareness that the old engagement models are no longer fit-for-purpose. Meetings, surveys, consultations and questionnaires alone are not enough to win the trust of tenants. If we want to truly engage, we need a fresh approach rooted in play and creativity.
Engagement must be fun and creative to be effective.

That’s not to dismiss the serious side of social housing. From designing and delivering an industry-leading accountability framework to designing and delivering a flagship service for people with mental health conditions, I have seen the sector from all angles, giving me unique insight.
Promoting wellbeing, neuroinclusion, diversity and authenticity are core values for me and my track record bears this out.
