Engagement support for housing and care organisations

About Tentacles Consultancy

In nature, tentacles are used to ensure a creature has extended reach, can gather sensory information and to stop them being swept away. I apply these principles to engagement with tenants, customers, clients and anyone making a home in services.

What Tentacles Consultancy does...

Whether you’re working in social or supported housing, or care, there is increasing focus on engagement and satisfaction.  Tentacles is here to help. Whatever the service type, there is no standard approach to engagement, leading to organisations setting their own standards, or doing what is necessary at the time.  The pressures on providers mean there is often limited capacity to think about the future or innovation.

Setting up the relevant frameworks and relationships with people using services can be time consuming and needs expertise. However, once they are set up, they can easily become business as usual.

I provide short term interventions to help you get the right culture, structures and participation to ensure the tentacles of engagement reach into every aspect of your business, increasing satisfaction and ensuring your business is innovative, successful and future proof.

About me

Claire Blacka - providing engagement support for social and supported housing services

My name is Claire Blacka, and I have worked in social and supported housing since 2001.

Throughout that time, I’ve seen brilliant progress in the involvement of homemakers, but I believe there is a lot more the sector can do.  I am experienced in facilitating conversations and ideas, and I have a creative approach to communication that makes people sit up and listen (have a little look around the website to see more on this).

More recently, I have decided to branch out on my own to provide engagement support for social and supported housing services.  I have become an accredited facilitator for Insights Discovery, with the aim of using this to see how our preferred working styles can push engagement forward (and why it’s worth the effort).

You can find out more about my career history and qualifications by having a peek at my CV.
