I have extensive experience of working in care and support services, and I have been a Registered Manager in the past. I recognise that there are time pressures when engaging with people in care settings but below are some of the things Tentacles can offer to overcome that.
I offer a range of short and long term interventions to help improve organisations providing care. Have an explore below to see what might be the solution for you…
Many people think that engagement requires structure and organised activity, but great engagement is often more informal than that. Having a culture of really listening to people using your services, then acting on their feedback, can make a huge difference. And can be evidenced when it’s done right!
I have a range of tools to help you scrutinise your culture, make changes and embed the right behaviours. I use creative and engaging ways to examine issues like listening beyond words, stigma and discrimination and complaints culture. Wherever possible, I aim to work with people using services to create and deliver sessions.
For a more intensive look at culture, I also deliver Insights Discovery sessions. I believe this is a great tool for setting the right culture for effective engagement, as it gives participants more knowledge about their preferred style, their communication methods and helps them flex to other styles when needed. It also uses simple language and frameworks to identify the styles of others to enable effective communication.
I am a trained practitioner for a range of Person-Centred Planning tools.
Tentacles can provide training for your colleagues, or can deliver the toold directly to the people you work with.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) requires services to demonstrate effective communication with people using services, as well as a requirement to show how they shape and influence services through feedback.
Tentacles can offer an independent eye to see how things are going, with realistic and creative options for improvement.
